FAQ: Can the native T7 DNA Polymerase be used for sequencing?
No, the strong 3'→5' exonuclease activity of native T7 DNA Polymerase is undesirable for sequencing. A modified T7 DNA Polymerase must be used instead. This is sold by GE Healthcare under the trade name Sequenase™.
